Web Typography Do's and Dont's
Good typography helps the reader not read. Web typography even more so.
- Don’t use too many fonts on one page. Use size and weight as your primary indicators.
- Don’t use centered, right or full justified text
- Give your text room to breathe, but only as much room as you need
- Don't use bold type for paragraph text
- Dont use ALL CAPS
- Design for scannability, especially headlines, subheads
- Use columns – 800 pixels is too wide for reading
- Size text appropriately
- Links are the only text that should ever be underlined
These rules are suspended with text designed for purely decorative purposes.
